Logistics 2.0
From the new normal for flower shippers of Africa, to
sustainability and airport community collaborations in the fresh
corridors, or the new digital dynamics of flower logistics and
the feasibility around ocean freight for African flower exporters
– all this and more was deliberated with great gusto at the
fifth edition of the 'Flower Logistics Africa', a marquee event
for the flower industry in Africa which was held in Nairobi last
November, reports Lakshmi Ajay

full of interesting discussions, the fifth
edition of the 'Flower Logistics Africa'
W held in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on
November 23 last year created a blueprint for how the
flower logistics industry in Africa can move forward
with brimming confidence.
Key air cargo gateway to Europe, Brussels Airport
had presented the two-day conference which included
the Flower Logistics Africa and the Perishables Logistics
Africa events held on consecutive days.
The two-day shipper-centric event was organized
by Logistics Update Africa, a STAT Media Group
publication, and it was held after a gap of three
years because of the global lockdowns following the
Coronavirus pandemic.
The event witnessed many informative and interactive
presentations by European and African airport authorities
and several leading African flower associations and industry
players that covered a gamut of topics like opportunities,
sustainability, new regulations, and challenges surrounding
the flower logistics industry in Africa.
Presentations were made by several industry leaders
including Sam Quintelier, Cargo Business Development
Manager, Brussels Airport, Josiah M Syanda, Deputy
Director, Phytosanitary Services, KEPHIS (Kenya Plant
Health Inspectorate Service), Lina Jamwa, Membership,
Advocacy, and Communications Manager, Kenya Flower
