August 16, 2017: IAG Cargo is expanding its US network. It has announced the introduction of a new direct service to Nashville, Tennessee. From May 2018 the B787-8 will operate five times a week from London Heathrow, bringing the total number of IAG Cargo-operated US gateways to 24.
The aircraft will offer a cargo payload of up to 15 tonnes per flight and delivers easy access to any of IAG Cargo’s 350 destinations across its network.
David Shepherd, commercial director, IAG Cargo said, “While we have an excellent number of entry points into the US, particularly on the east and west coasts, Nashville is an important addition for our customers based in the south east of the country. Tennessee has a burgeoning automotive industry, and we anticipate that this new capacity will be welcomed by businesses looking to move spare auto parts into Europe and beyond.”
The 2018 summer schedule will also see IAG Cargo increase its daily flights to Philadelphia and Phoenix to ten flights per week, representing a 34 percent and 43 percent increase in capacity respectively.
IAG Cargo covers a network of over 350 destinations, and in 2016 the company had reported commercial revenue of €1,022 million.
