May 03, 2021: Astral Aviation’s B767F has carried 325,260 Pfizer doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Nairobi to Johannesburg on May 2. A weekly arrival of same number of doses is expected until the end of May.

The first flight to Joburg using the same aircraft was operated on March 26.

After has transported Covid-19 vaccines and syringes to Juba, Aden, Yemen via Nairobi in March. The shipment was handled by Air India from Mumbai to Nairobi.

By June end, Pfizer will ship 4.5 million doses of vaccines to South Africa. The South African government also expects Johnson & Johnson to release stock from the Aspen Pharmacare Holdings's plant by the middle of May.

The government ordered 30 million of the two-dose vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech SE, in addition to the J&J shots.
