Ethiopian Airlines' B777-200F catches fire at China’s Shanghai airport

July 22, 2020: Ethiopian Airlines Cargo’s B777-200F caught fire at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China, while loading cargo today.

The last flight of the aircraft was from Brussels Airport.

The airline has issued a statement in regards to the incident, stating that "The aircraft was on a regular scheduled cargo service from Shanghai to Sao Paulo - Santiago via Addis Ababa. All ground staff and flying crew are safe."

It is reported that the fire most likely started in the main cargo deck and then burnt through the upper fuselage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
