ECS Group promotes Adrien Thominet as executive chairman
ECS Group chief executive officer Adrien Thominet has been appointed as the executive chairman on August 01, 2021.
September 13, 2021: ECS Group chief executive officer Adrien Thominet has been appointed as the executive chairman on August 01, 2021. He succeeded Bertrand Schmoll.
Thominet has been with ECS Group for more than 25 years, becoming its COO in 2011 and then CEO in 2017. Over the past four years, ECS Group has seen enormous development, both in network and client base growth, as well as in innovation and technology. In this regard, it offers airline customers a total cargo management (TCM) concept, alongside a wide range of à la carte services and abilities.
Underlining his new function as executive chairman, Thominet stated, “I am honoured to have been appointed executive chairman. Today, more than ever, the air cargo industry is at a crossroads, and our ambition as the leading worldwide GSSA, is to provide the optimum support to our customers in this changing environment. We are therefore committed to continuously improving and developing innovative, sustainable, high value-added solutions and services to best serve them. We will soon be publishing the results of our revised commercial direction with the launch of our Augmented GSA concept in the coming weeks."
Today, ECS represents over 150 airlines of all sizes across the globe, and provides capacity support to around 10,000 freight forwarders. The Group has seen exponential development on all continents, 167 subsidiaries in 50 countries within APAC, Europe, North America, and Latin America. In 2020, it transported a record 1.1 million tonnes of cargo.
