September 03, 3019: In order to meet the growing demand for import of solar panels from China, Tigers South Africa has launched a renewable energy vertical.

The company stated that it is working with some of the major solar panel manufacturers in the industry, as well as Energy Partners, an energy solutions provider in South Africa.

"These are exciting times for Tigers as we move into the renewable energy sector, which is a growing market, especially in South Africa. As with the recently opened Tigers e-commerce facility in South Africa, the renewable energy vertical is in line with our progressive approach to freight forwarding and embracing new markets," said Paul Lawrence, managing director, Tigers South Africa.

Tigers is providing customs brokerage, local logistics, and warehouse storage to meet the growing demand for solar panels in South Africa. The solar panels are shipped from China into Cape Town and Durban and then distributed across the country by Tigers.

Tigers South Africa has launched a dedicated e-commerce centre at its Johannesburg, South Africa, warehouse facility, as the online retail market continues to grow globally. The e-commerce centre is the first of its kind for Tigers in South Africa, and the move coincides with the recent announcement about freight rate quote engine Doozee being rolled-out across Tigers' global internal network.
