Port of Ngqura’s business to expand with Seaspan Felixstowe
The Port of Ngqura has welcomed MV Seaspan Felixstowe, the container vessel on its first call to the port on June 9, 2018. It is expected to bring in new business to the Eastern Cape, as it is scheduled to visit the port every Saturday and leaving again on every Sunday.
June 26, 2018: The Port of Ngqura has welcomed MV Seaspan Felixstowe, the container vessel on its first call to the port on June 9, 2018. It is expected to bring in new business to the Eastern Cape, as it is scheduled to visit the port every Saturday and leaving again on every Sunday.
The vessel will be sailing from the Port of Durban to the Port of Ngqura on her way to Tianjin in China. During this voyage, 300 containers will be imported and export of 600 containers will take place per visit. The vessel is 260 metre long, has a weight of 39,941 gross tonnage and a capacity of 4 250 TEUs.
The Port of Ngqura, which has a 1.5 million TEU capacity, is a growing port. During 2017-18, 57 percent of the port’s operational capacity was utilised.
