September 01, 2021: Aglow Aviation Support Services, a Nigerian aviation consultancy, flight operations, and logistics business, has joined Cargo iQ.

Aglow Aviation's daughter company, Aglow Air, was recently incorporated as a dedicated cargo airline in Nigeria.

Operating as an unscheduled cargo carrier out of Lagos, Aglow Aviation is positioning itself to offer unrivalled flexibility and first-rate service delivery to the cargo sector in Nigeria and the West and Central African sub-regions.

"As new entrants into the cargo sector, our decision to be a part of Cargo iQ was based on our desire to benchmark our operations and processes with global best practices from day one," said Tayo Ojuri, managing director, Aglow Aviation Support Services.

"Being in a community that includes members representing all players in the cargo value chain is an invaluable opportunity to access data that assists with the continuous measuring, monitoring, and improvement of our process."

Air cargo demand is expected to increase in Nigeria and West and Central Africa as requirements for the international transportation of temperature-controlled goods and cross border ecommerce continue to grow.

The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) will further promote growth in the market.

"In joining the growing Cargo iQ community, Aglow Aviation has shown its commitment to our shared vision for cross-stakeholder collaboration and a standardized, quality-driven air cargo supply chain," said Henrik Ambak, chair of the Cargo iQ board and senior vice president cargo operations worldwide, Emirates.

Cargo iQ is to host its AGM on October 13, 2021, where it will share its renewed vision.
