Mar 24, 2017: An Air Operation Certificate (AOC) was issued to a new helicopter company Genesis Global Aviation (GGA) to enable it to operate commercial helicopter services in the country.

The certificate was presented to the company by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). GGA is a Rotary wing aviation operator based in Lagos providing helicopter services to the general public incuding offshore oil industry service operators, EMS service operators, line surveillance operations, among others.

The company owns and operates a fleet of six EC155b Eurocopters with a plan to acquire more in the nearest future. Chairman/Accountable Manager of the Airline, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho said the GGA had entered the industry despite the current economic downturn because of its belief in the resilience of the Nigerian economy, stated media reports.

Despite the recession, he said the country still requires helicopter services for the oil and gas, emergency services, moving people to the hinterlands and for general logistics.

He said the company would also provide helicopter services for passengers from Kaduna to Abuja with the closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja.
