May 26, 2017: Maersk Line, the global containerised division of the Maersk Group has announced two services. The first service is an enhanced MESAWA Service with a direct call into Tema to cover West and South Africa market and the second is PROTEA service, a new direct service to cover India to South Africa and Indian Ocean Islands. The first call from Mundra and Nhava Sheva will commence from May 29, 2017.

While the enhanced weekly MESAWA Service will cover India to West Africa, the service will also carry South Africa cargo from South and East India.

The new weekly PROTEA service will directly cover India to South Africa and Indian Ocean Islands. The combined products will offer two weekly sailings to South Africa from India.

A Tema port call which is being added to the MESAWA rotation will cater to our export and import customers.
