The government of Kenya has extended the ban on international flights for another 30 days.
April 06, 2020: The government of Kenya has extended the ban on international flights for another 30 days. The ban does not apply to flights coming to evacuate foreign nationals & cargo flights, stated CS James Macharia, cabinet secretary for transport, infrastructure, housing, and urban development.
The national carrier of Kenya stopped flying from the midnight of March 25. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kenya Airways even sought an undisclosed sum from the government to be able to survive the next six months as it runs out of money after grounding all international flights to help contain the coronavirus, the airline chairman Michael Joseph said.
