Thomas Cook Airlines starts direct London Gatwick-Cape Town service
Thomas Cook Airlines’ inaugural London Gatwick-Cape Town flight took off on December 15, adding to its 17-route long haul portfolio from the UK and strengthening the number of long-haul African routes among the Thomas Cook Group Airlines.
Dec 21, 2016: Thomas Cook Airlines’ inaugural London Gatwick-Cape Town flight took off on December 15, adding to its 17-route long haul portfolio from the UK and strengthening the number of long-haul African routes among the Thomas Cook Group Airlines.
James Burrows, Aviation director for Thomas Cook Airlines, said, “This was a really special and atmospheric event for customers that captured the spirit of Cape Town and also the excitement of the festive season.”
“Our announcement of this route from London Gatwick has really shaken up the market for direct Cape Town flights in the South East. As a result it’s been really popular for both UK and South African customers. The flights will be really comfortable in cabins that are fully upgraded to include Premium class, James Martin meals and our pre-order duty free service, Airshoppen.”

Thomas Cook’s Group Airlines also flies to Windhoek (WDH), Zanzibar (ZNZ), Kilimanjaro (JRO) and Mombasa (MBA) with from Germany with Condor.
