gulf Air will start five weekly non-stop flights to its newest destination Male, the Maldives.
June 24, 2019: The national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air will start five weekly non-stop flights to its newest destination Male, the Maldives from October 26, 2019. The route will be operated using A320neo.
The recent delivery of its third A320neo is part of a major fleet development project, which will see the airline receive a total of 12 A320neo aircraft by the end of 2023, said the statement from Gulf Air.
On the new launch, Gulf Air CEO Kresimir Kucko said, "We are proud of this fantastic milestone as we continue with our brand promise in expanding our fleet along with our network. For summer, Gulf Air has started its thrice-weekly flights between June 15 and September 14, connecting Salalah Airport to Manama using A320s. The direct flights operated by Gulf Air will definitely boost the tourist traffic between Dhofar governorate and Bahrain and will contribute to increase connectivity for passengers flying from Salalah to the other destinations operated by Gulf Air.
In another development, the airline has launched a twice-weekly service between Bahrain and Malaga, Spain. The 5,279-kilometre route will be operated by a B787-9 on Wednesdays and Fridays.
