May 12, 2021: Green Africa will fly to 6 cities in Nigeria, after flying its maiden flight to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on April 23. The route was served by ATR 72-600.

The other cities to be served soon include Ilorin International Airport (Ilorin), Akure Airport (Ondo), Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (Abuja), Akanu Ibiam International Airport (Enugu), Port Harcourt International Airport (Omagwa), and Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (Owerri).

In February 2020, the Lagos-based airline signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for 50 A220-300, one of the major orders to be placed globally for the A220 programme and the largest-ever from the African continent. The orders are scheduled to become available this year.

In 2018, the startup airline announced plans to buy 100 of Boeing’s troubled 737 MAX jets.

Last year, the airline committed to lease three A220-300s from GTLK Europe, the Ireland-registered arm of Russia’s State Transport Leasing Corporation.
