Aug 30, 2018: Recently, the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has held a bidders’ conference that outlined investment opportunities in the Boankra Inland Port project near Kumasi.

Benonita Bismarck, CEO, GSA pointed to opportunities in voice and data network set ups and construction of a shippers’ centre.

The Boankra Inland Port project will link the ports of Tema and Takoradi to the inner parts of the country, as well as to the landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The facility is expected to be a free port that will combine unimodal and intermodal operations aimed at facilitating transit trade.

Ghanaian deputy minister for transport, Daniel Titus-Glover, said that the conference was part of government’s efforts to create an enabling environment for the private sector to contribute to the development of transport infrastructure in the country.
