November 6, 2019: Effective November 1, 2019, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has appointed Fundi Sithebe as the acting CEO, while the process to recruit and appoint a permanent CEO is on the process. She replaces Bongiwe Mbomvu.

ACSA board has taken the decision to rotate the acting CEO in accordance with the company’s Acting and Allowance Policy that was approved in June 2019.

Sithebe joined ACSA in March 2015 as chief of staff and was subsequently appointed to the role of the chief operating officer in December 2017. She holds a Bachelor of business administration from Midrand University, and a post-graduate diploma in management from Wits Business School.

The board thanked Bongiwe Mbomvu, who has been the acting CEO since December 2018.

Recently, ACSA and BMW South Africa have launched ChargeNow electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, and King Shaka International Airport.

OR Tambo and Cape Town airports each have two ChargeNow stations that accommodate up to four cars at a time, while King Shaka has one ChargeNow station able to charge two cars at a time.
