October 08, 2020: Eurowings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, will launch a twice weekly A330 service from Frankfurt to Mombasa and on to Zanzibar, effective March 31, 2021. The announcement was made by Andre Schultz, Lufthansa's general manager Southern Africa and East Africa, as reported by ATC News.
The flights will complement Lufthansa's regular scheduled flights to Nairobi, which group member Swiss is also serving several times a week.
The additional services to Mombasa are expected to give a boost to Kenyan tourism and with leisure travel expected to pick up again over the next couple of months.
