November 28, 2018: Ethiopian Airlines Cargo and Liege Airport recently marked the completion of 10 years of cooperation.

Fitsum Abady, general manager, Ethiopian Airlines Cargo and Logistics, who is at the helm of ET Cargo in Liege for many years acknowledged that the choice for Liege in 2008 proved to be the best choice for everyone.

“ET Cargo has been growing quickly, with a freighter fleet that evolved from 2 leased MD11 to an impressive fleet of 8 brand new B777 freighters with more to come. Liege Airport managed to accomodate the growth and supported ET Cargo all the way. Mr. Abady for his part, is also an ambassador for Liege Airport. He said he is convinced there will be many more happy landings, and challenged the airport to keep managing the growth of long term partners,” Liege Airport said in its press release.

Steven Verhasselt, VP Commercial of Liege Airport, was happy to accept the challenge. The growth of the airport, thanks to its many partners, has called for investments in additional capacity.

“By investing in additional warehouse space, in new systems and in Cloud based cargo community systems, the airport remains on the quality and speed of the services, for precious flowers and perishables as for all other commodities. ET Cargo, who was at the forefront of launching Liege Airport Cargo North as the gateway for flowers and perishables, is guaranteed quality services and room for growth,” the release further read.

The occasion was marked on the sidelines of the 2nd Africa Aviation summit, hosted by long term partners NAM, Astral Aviation and Liege Airport in Nairobi. The next event is going to be held in 2020 in Addis, Ethiopia.
