March 30, 2020: Effective March 29, Emirates SkyCargo has started flying cargo-only passenger flights to Nairobi, Kenya; Entebbe, Uganda; Khartoum, Sudan; and Cairo, Egypt. In addition, it will also fly a full freighter to Khartoum from April 1.

From Dubai International Airport (DXB), the carrier will operate two flights per week to Nairobi, Entebbe, and Khartoum, whereas 10 flights per week to Cairo. Further, in April, Khartoum will have an additional full freighter from Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). The news was revealed on the LinkedIn page of Julius Mooney, commercial development manager - specialty products at Emirates SkyCargo.

Between mid-January and mid-March 2020, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 225,000 tonnes of cargo in total out of which 55,000 tonnes were food items including fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood, and more than 13,000 tonnes were of pharmaceutical.

Meanwhile, Emirates deployed its B777 pax planes to ferry cargo to and from 7 destinations in India on a daily basis.
