Feb 18, 2017: DP World's Group chairman and CEO has discussed the benefits of long-term partnerships between governments and the private sector for Senegal and other African nations.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group chairman and CEO, said, "I'm a strong advocate of the power of partnerships for the benefit of all. We have partnered with governments around the world to make trade faster, safer and more efficient. This has a direct impact on the development of local communities and economies, while connecting them with global markets."

DP World proposed a master plan for Dakar to build a multi-purpose port with an economic and logistics zone adjacent to new Blaise Diagne International Airport. According to DP World it allows for the creation of cargo, free movement of goods to support the country's economic diversification, boosting non-resource exports.

DP World expects it to be one of the most advanced and well organised free zones in Africa.

Bin Sulayem said, "We will continue to work closely with the government to enhance Senegal's reputation as a gateway to Africa and to support the President's plans to develop its economy. We look forward to working together in the years ahead."
