October 24, 2019: Cabo Verde Airlines which was eyeing flights to the Angolan capital of Luanda by the end of this year will delay the launch to mid-2020.
The postponed launch will also give Cabo Verde Airlines added time to market the flights between Sal and Luanda better and ensure connectivity into the rest of the airline’s network.
Until that time, Cabo Verde Airlines will rely on the two weekly codeshare flights operated by TAAG between Luanda and Sal, which enroute also stop at Sao Tome & Principe.
The planned flight launch to Washington DC and to Porto Allegre remains on course for December 9 and 11, respectively.
The airlines' international network also includes Dakar (Senegal), Lisbon (Portugal), Milan and Rome (Italy), and Paris (France).
In March, Icelandair Group has acquired a 51 percent stake in Cabo Verde Airlines, previously known as TACV, through its leasing arm Loftleidir.
