Jun 05, 2017: Bud Darr is to join MSC Group as executive vice president, Maritime Policy and Government Affairs from July 1, 2017. He has over 25 years of experience in the international maritime's field, was most recently Senior Vice President of Technical and Regulatory Affairs for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

In his new role, Darr will hold global responsibilities for the MSC Group's different business interests, including the cargo, container terminal, and cruises divisions. Establishing and developing a central Government Affairs function at the Group's global headquarters in Geneva will be among his key priorities. He will also continue to be closely involved in CLIA and other cruise industry activities, in addition to trade associations and other maritime industry efforts that are important to the MSC Group's other businesses.

Prior to joining CLIA, Darr held several positions within the U.S. Coast Guard, including that of deputy chief of Maritime & International Law. In that position, he represented the maritime policy interests of the US at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as well as globally.
