Feb 16, 2017: Bolloré Logistics Senegal has won an industrial project logistics contract for customer Optimum Tracker, in charge of installing the Sinthiou Mékhé solar power station, which has an energy capacity of 29 MW, located at approximately 140 km from Dakar.

To date, and with operations under way, 129 containers have been handled from the unloading phase at Dakar port to the unpacking phase at the work site. The total weight of the packages handled is in excess of 2,500 tonnes, which was transported over two months between Dakar and Sinthiou Mékhé.

Halfway through the installation phase, 15 handling agents took part in the operations involving unpacking and stowing at the storage and dispatch area on the solar power station site, which has a surface of 64 ha.

Sabaly, on-site HSE Coordinator for the project, pointed out that staff awareness-raising sessions and vehicle and machinery inspections systematically take place as per our HSE management system. This is a fine demonstration of local staff training by the Large-Scale Works - Projects, Logistics, HSE and Technical departments.

Ghislain Fourastié, Optimum Tracker Project Manager, believes that "Bolloré Logistics has proved its professionalism, providing the resources required for such a large-scale project". Close collaboration between the Bolloré Logistics and Optimum Tracker teams will ensure that the deadlines for the various phases will be met for the project, with a provisional duration of nine to 12 months.
