September 05, 2019: Bollore Transport & Logistics inaugurated its new multimodal logistics hub, Aerohub, in Abidjan yesterday (September 4). The event was attended by Thierry Ehrenbogen, CEO of Bollore Logistics.

Featuring new generation equipment, Aerohub will receive, store and distribute via a tri-temperature platform (frozen, positive cold, ambient temperature) goods intended for Cote d'Ivoire and the sub-regional market for companies in the mass retail, telecoms, pharmaceutical, and catering sectors.

Aerohub is ideally located at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Airport and close to the Port of Abidjan, making it a connection point between international sea and air logistics flows as well as final consumers. Over €6 million (West African Franc CFA 4.5 billion) have already been invested to launch the initial phase of the project, out of a total €12 million (West African Franc CFA 8 billion) earmarked in the long term.

Promoting sustainable logistics in West Africa, Aerohub stands apart through the integration of innovative systems designed to shrink the carbon footprint of its business activities. It is equipped with low energy consumption (LED) lighting system with movement detectors and a storm-water holding reservoir, together with electric handling equipment that in the long term will be powered by solar panels.

Committed to the logistics transformation of the African continent, Bollore is determined to play a long-term role in the growth momentum of Cote d'Ivoire and contribute to the inception of the African common market. Bollore also aims to capitalise on the success of Aerohub to maintain its leadership position in the provision of logistics services in West Africa.
