Astral Aviation carries Covid-19 vaccines to Sudan; releases new freighter schedule
Astral Aviation transported Covid-19 vaccines from UNICEF Supply Division and World Health Organization in its DC9F from Nairobi to Juba, South Sudan, in association with Scan Global Logistics.
September 01, 2021: Astral Aviation transported Covid-19 vaccines from UNICEF Supply Division and World Health Organization in its DC9F from Nairobi to Juba, South Sudan, in association with Scan Global Logistics.
The vaccines were carried by Network Aviation Group’s B747F from Liege to Nairobi for onward connection by Astral Aviation.
Astral Aviation has released its freighter schedule effective September 6, which incorporates the African route network from the Nairobi, Johannesburg, Dubai and Hong Kong. The schedule comprises of 14 destinations from the Nairobi hub with major capacity increases on the following routes:
Nairobi - Johannesburg
Additional B767F frequency is added bringing the total to three times per week. In addition to the existing 3 x B727F flights per week (140 tonnes of weekly capacity).
Nairobi – Dubai
Twice weekly B767F frequency with 82 tonnes capacity in both directions.
Nairobi - Hong Kong via Dubai
A new weekly B767F frequency.
Astral Aviation will continue to operate its intra-African network as per the existing schedule and will be flexible to accommodate additional frequencies at short notice.
