RiseUp acquires online MENA-based startup StarterHub
RiseUp, a Cairo-based platform that connects startups to resources worldwide, has acquired StarterHub, a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) focused online startup community. The deal amount was not disclosed by RiseUp.
October 14, 2019: RiseUp, a Cairo-based platform that connects startups to resources worldwide, has acquired StarterHub, a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) focused online startup community. The deal amount was not disclosed by RiseUp.
The acquisition comes about two months after RiseUp’s acquisition of MENA-focused tech publication Menabytes.
StarterHub was founded in August by Amr Hussein and its 2,000 strong closed group hosts discussions on investment, strategies, tools, legalities and ecosystem news, among other topics. RiseUp CEO and founder Abdelhameed Sharara told Menabytes his organisation and StarterHub shared the same values and vision.
RiseUp has partnered with Amazon, Google, Facebook, Uber, Careem, Microsoft, Nielsen, PwC, Pepsico, IBM, among others.
