Qatar Airways flies A350-900 to Durban to meet increasing demand
Qatar Airways has introduced A350-900 on the Durban-Doha route, to offer an increase in the passenger seats.
July 09, 2019: Qatar Airways has introduced A350-900 on the Durban-Doha route, to offer an increase in the passenger seats. The flight will operate four times in a week.
Commenting on Qatar Airways aircraft gauge increase, Durban Direct co-chair Hamish Erskine noted, "Long haul routes continue to be very important for the lifeblood of our economy in KwaZulu-Natal, by delivering tourists and business travellers to our shores and opening up new markets for our goods around the world.
Qatar Airways has been instrumental in providing Durban's King Shaka International Airport with international connectivity to over 160 destinations around the globe through its vast network.
"In the medium term, as Durban Direct, we took an approach which set out a goal of focusing on growing the frequencies and the aircraft capacity of our airline partners that currently service King Shaka International Airport, this development by Qatar Airways is a very welcome development," Erskine stated.
Durban Direct will continue to work with all international and regional airlines flying into the province, helping them through promotion and other operational incentives, in order to ensure that with their flights are able to deliver value to the people and economy of KwaZulu-Natal.
