Ethiopian Express starts flights to Shire, Indaselassie

October 31, 2017: Ethiopian, the national flag carrier and the largest airline group in Africa, has announced the starting of scheduled operation to Shire, Indasilssie effective October 25, 2017.

October 31, 2017: Ethiopian, the national flag carrier and the largest airline group in Africa, has announced the starting of scheduled operation to Shire, Indasilssie effective October 25, 2017. The new flights to Shire, Indaselassie will be operated on four-time weekly schedule.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam, remarked, “As a national flag carrier of Ethiopia, it is our duty to meet the air connectivity need of the travellers and support the socio-economic development of the country. The commencement of flights to Indaselassie brings the number of our domestic destinations to 20. We are investing heavily in our domestic fleet and infrastructure development and are availing the largest domestic network in Africa. We are operating the latest technology regional aircraft, the Q400 and the B737, which give maximum on-board comfort to our customers, with flight punctuality on par with the best airlines in the world. We will continue to grow our domestic network and to enhance the domestic travel experience with a view to facilitating the increased flow of tourism, investment and trade to all the regions of the country.”

Ethiopian is currently upgrading the facilities at regional airports and has recently launched a night flight to Axum and Gondar.

1Ethiopian operates to more than 100 international passenger and cargo destinations across five continents. Ethiopian fleet includes Airbus A350, Boeing 787, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 777-200 Freighter, Bombardier Q-400 double cabin with an average fleet age of five years.
