Egyptair expands freighter operations to African destinations from Cologne/Bonn

Feb 21, 2019: Starting March this year Egyptair Cargo will offer a new weekly direct freighter service from its European Cargo hub Cologne/Bonn (CGN) to Johannesburg (JNB) on Sundays. A second rotation is also scheduled to start on Thursdays starting in April. The carrier will operate an A332F on these routes.

Furthermore the CGN hub will be linked with additional 3 new Egyptair Cargo freighter destinations: Lagos (LOS) in Nigeria, N'Djamena (NDJ) in Chad and Khartoum (KRT) in Sudan. More freighter destinations will follow later this year.

"The further increase of the Egyptair Cargo freighter operation at Cologne Bonn Airport with additional flights and African destinations underline the great potential our airport has to offer," said Johan Vanneste, President & CEO of Cologne Bonn Airport.

"As an African airline, we felt it was the right time to take part in the African Renaissance. We see these new rotations as a major step to enhance our African network," said Capt. Bassem, CEO of Egyptair Cargo about the expansions.
