August 20, 2020: Chapman Freeborn managed to complete a time-critical cargo operation carrying urgent equipment on Aug 14 for a salvage mission needed to assist the MV Wakashio ship that had just run aground on a coral reef off Mauritius.

Speed was of the essence as the hull had broken, which led to oil spillage. In just over 12 hours, Chapman Freeborn’s cargo team positioned the aircraft at Ostend–Bruges International Airport (OST) for departure to Mauritius Airport (MRU).

Chapman Freeborn has a cargo availability of an Ilyushin IL-76 with a payload of up to 45 tonnes from South Africa to Africa or Europe.
