April 26, 2019: The French ministry of foreign affairs, with the support of the European Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), engaged the services of Bollore Logistics for the chartering of an Antonov 124 to Beira, Mozambique. The flight delivered 65 tonnes of freight, mainly tents, electrical and water treatment systems, donated by the French government and various non-profit organisations (NGOs).

Once shipped, humanitarian aid has been delivered through the French Embassy to the National Institute for Disaster Management in Mozambique.

An Airbus A330 lent by the Airbus Foundation was also chartered by Bollore Logistics agency in Roissy CDG in coordination with the charter desk, allowing the transport of 30 tonnes of additional equipment.

One month after Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique, the situation is still very critical on the ground. Many people are still homeless, electricity grids have been particularly affected, and a cholera epidemic is raging in the central part of the country. International humanitarian aid continues to be deployed to bring relief items to the affected areas.
