September 07, 2020: Astral Aviation has transported 70-tonnes cargo of personal protective equipment (PPE) to South Sudan using a B747-200.  This is one of the PPE shipments from the World Health Organization (WHO) which arrived from Guangzhou, China via Nairobi, Kenya.

The news was revealed on the LinkedIn page of Sanjeev Gadhia, founder and CEO of Astral Aviation.

A grand reception was organised on arrival at Juba International Airport.

Global Service Solutions (GSS), a charter leasing company for cargo, has teamed up with Astral for this project. In July, GSS’ ER-BAT 747-200 has been provided CCAR-129 approval, one of the essential permits issued by China Civil Aviation to enable the operator to operate to and from People’s Republic China freely without limitation.
