50 companies submit bids for NNPC’s boat supply contract
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced that 50 companies are bidding for the supply of tug boats on charter basis.
Jan16, 2017: The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced that 50 companies are bidding for the supply of tug boats on charter basis.
NNPC, in a media statement, said the boats would be used for operational requirements of maritime in Lagos, Warri and Port Hartcourt. This was mentioned by NNPC’s group general manager from the group public affairs division, Ndu Ughamadu.
The public opening of the bids happened at the NNPC headquarters with the representatives of the bidding companies and the officials of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Also in attendance were the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR); Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
Those winning the bid would be engaged on a two-year term contract in the first instance with an option of renewal for another one year. Bid winners are expected to provide services including aiding the berth and unberthing all ships operating at the jetties at NNPC.
