December 17, 2019: Kenya Airways has declared that Allan Kilavuka, chief executive officer (CEO) and MD of the airline's low-cost carrier Jambojet will become the acting CEO, effective January 1, once Sebastian Mikosz exits by the end of the year.

The recruitment process for a successor already underway for several months now has not yielded concrete results, due to the financial state of the airline.

"Allan will also continue his role as CEO of Jambojet during the interim period of recruitment," the board said in a statement signed by the firm's secretary Catherine Musakali.

Allan has over 22 years of working experience. He started his career at Deloitte and then General Electric Company where he held various senior leadership positions in their Sub Saharan Africa businesses before joining Jambojet.

Mikosz has served resignation in May, barely two years after he was brought on board as a turnaround specialist, but found himself embroiled in controversies within no time.
