Mar 29, 2017: Air Botswana seeks to settle a dispute with the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) over what it claims are excessive charges for landing fees and passenger service levies.
The state-owned carrier has reportedly asked CAAB to justify the BWP5.1 million pula (USD500,556) being claimed for 2014.
The carrier argues CAAB had computed the fees based on load sheets and the numbers of passengers on each flight without adjusting for transit passengers.
Officials from either side have met and discussions are ongoing, say reports.
The carrier is in the midst of a privatization drive with government currently considering proposals from seventeen parties interested in partnering the airline.
